I highly doubt they would use Arma for training in the use of arms and military proficiency.

Arma at best could be edutainment, but it's not authoritative. Like the amendment says, you need regulation, and that comes from authority. Personally, I think using a videogame on its own for military training, well that would be lax, maybe even irresponsible. However, using a videogame for gun training? As has been said, the US military has been using sims for a while in their training. However, that's a broad topic, and the Supreme Court faces many challenges to the Second Amendment based on how people have been using guns lately. Or, they can get a gun through other channels and use it illegally, there isn't much difference in terms of function. Any civilian can go to a store and buy a gun, and provided they fill out the forms, they can legally use that weapon. However, the instruction on how or why to use guns is limited. In other words, join the military, and they will teach you how to use your gun. The most impotant part of regulation should naturally be a satisfactory level of training in the proper use of arms. The Second Amendment right to bear arms is constitutional, which means it was written in direct response to incorporation against British foreign policy: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. military tried to use programms developed from computer games like DOOM to train their soldiers and it never worked, so why should it work with civilians?Īlso, America needs to understand that not all problems can be solved with firepower. But then you'd probably get a bunch of guys who expect the military to be like. The only thing I can imagine games could be good for is recruiting young people for a career in the armed forces.

The United States learned this in Vietnam. Draftees are ok for defensive warfare but if you constantly invade third world countries you need an army of professional soldiers.
